About Majlis Ash-Shura
Founded in February 1989, Majlis Ash-Shura: Islamic Leadership Council of New York serves as a unified voice for the Muslim community. As an umbrella organization for nearly 100 mosques and institutions, the Council acts as an official liaison to the media, advocacy groups, and government bodies.
Beyond representation, Majlis Ash-Shura provides strategic guidance to its members, helping them develop political and social justice platforms rooted in Islamic values while fostering the spiritual and social growth of local neighborhoods.
